This week has given me a conscious understanding of what I need to do to connect more closely and effectively with learners. From my coursework and reading, I have identified several important aspects regarding the transfer of the clergy experience. It includes having supporters with similar experiences, analyzing the mistakes of others, and supporting self-belief to maintain a high level of motivation. Based on this knowledge, it is possible to identify several specific and practical ways to adapt communication to the needs of learners.
To maintain a persons ability to learn, God puts patience, encouragement, and love into everyone. It is evidenced by Romans 15:5, which states, May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind towards each other that Christ Jesus had (Biblica). Love for others and bright feelings motivate people to do good deeds, including spreading educational and biblical activities. It directly correlates with the ability to teach and the ability to learn. By bringing more love into peoples hearts, God gives them every opportunity for the most positive experience of getting acquainted with Christian morality.
Obviously, despite the opportunities to learn, a lot depends on the sincere desire of learners. It can be influenced by their environment, discouraging the passion for educational activities or significantly strengthening it. One of the specific actions that can be performed to increase motivation levels is the introduction of elements of independent work. For example, providing more self-reflection questions can increase learners interest and their desire to speak out. Another action point is gratitude and rewards for the work done, which can also help to improve motivation. Seeing the real positive consequences of approaching Christian morals and norms, the learner will sincerely continue to reach for new knowledge in the future.
One more important aspect of introducing new practical ways of adapting communication to students needs is their interest in joint actions. Individual work is important for a deeper understanding of the studied issues, but collaborative activity invests in practical skills. Thessalonians 5:11 states, Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing (Biblica). Thus, another action that can be suggested is to conduct some lectures in smaller groups to increase learners interaction with each other. It will positively affect the expansion of knowledge and the ability to reflect on complex problems from different angles.
Based on the knowledge gained from the coursework and readings, I also concluded that there is a need for illustrative examples. The spiritual fathers teaching method may differ from the demands that a particular child represents. Therefore, having a choice will help to look at some aspects of spiritual training differently. Thus, the last but not least specific action is to change the lecturer by inviting other experienced mentors. Their job may be to suggest additional questions for reflection or to change the teaching methodology. With all the aspects considered, the performed work will contribute to improving communication with learners, increasing their internal level of motivation, and strengthening their love for biblical activities.
