Diabetes is one of the most common diseases that older people are most affected by it. However, this does not mean that youth are not at risk. Danger factors include many points, such as family history and lifestyle (Diabetes basics, n.d.). It is necessary to understand how diabetes shows itself in anatomy to analyze this condition.
Two organ systems are associated directly with the onset of the disease endocrine and urinary. The first complex regulates the activity of all other internal organs of a person by releasing particular hormones (The endocrine system, 2019). These hormones can either be released into the bloodstream or enter the cells through diffusion. It is especially important to monitor the insulin, a regulator that lowers the glucose level. In type 2 diabetes, it is produced in sufficient quantities but is not perceived by the cells (The endocrine system, 2019). The urinary system, according to its name, forms, accumulates and excretes human urine. In the process of formation, components, such as glucose, are reabsorbed back into the blood (The urinary system, 2020). If the body cannot absorb glucose, as with type 2 diabetes, water is excreted in the urine, leading to frequent urination. Thus, it is possible to track the bodys condition with the help of insulin levels, as well as by secondary signs like inexplicable thirst.
Diabetic tests are often performed in the laboratory, but the patient can use the available tools to assess the diseases risk. I passed a similar analysis and found out that I have a low risk of diabetes because I scored 3 points out of 10 (Risk test, n.d.). The same test helped me find out the main factors that should be highlighted. Firstly, the risk increases with age, so people, especially men, over 40 years old, should actively monitor their lifestyle. The medical history of relatives is also essential, as the tendency to diabetes can be hereditary. Finally, the body mass index is a vital sign since deviations from the norm are a risk factor for the diseases occurrence.
Following the above factors, it is recommended to lead an active lifestyle, exercise, and follow a healthy diet. A predisposition to diabetes can be formed genetically; however, a person can minimize the risk of the disease. To do this, people must carefully monitor themselves and observe the deviations in the body.
