What You Need to Do

Get the Excel file and instruction PDF from SLiNG-GHG (mcgill.ca).
Choose Your Approach
Preset Model:
Option 1: Use the 20-year Baseline average U.S. model (recommended for simplicity).
Option 2: Focus on a specific regional model (e.g., Permian Basin).
User-Controlled Model: Not expected but can be used for customization.
Analyze the Data
Scroll past line 100 in the “Preset Model” worksheet.
Select at least two output charts (pie and/or bar charts) for analysis.
Write a Report (2page)
Use 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, 1-inch margins.
Address the following:
Gateway Comparison: Compare the three gateways (production, transmission, and distribution/shipping). Highlight differences and note any surprising GHG emission trends.
GHG Deep Dive: Choose one gateway. Compare CO2 and CH4 emissions, emphasizing that CH4 is ~80x more potent than CO2.
Decarbonization Focus: Recommend where the industry should focus its decarbonization efforts and propose policies to support this goal.
Key Points for Success
Charts: Ensure the charts you choose clearly support your discussion points.
Analysis: Provide a thoughtful comparison of emissions data and explain any trends.
Recommendations: Link your policy suggestions to findings in the data.
