Students will work up their Research Essay or Exhibition Catalogue Proposal into a finished text:
Research Essay: (1750 words plus labeled images and bibliography). Students will develop their Research Paper Proposal into a formal essay requiring research, appropriate documentation of research sources and a bibliography. The essay will propose and defend a thesis statement.
OR:
Exhibition Catalogue: (1750 words plus labeled images and bibliography). The Catalogue should include an Introduction (250 words) and six catalogue entries (250 words each). Please cite your sources throughout, using footnotes. Include labeled images.
Due Dec. 6.
Weighting: 40% of final grade.
The basic requirements of the Proposal carry over into the Research Essay/Exhibition Catalogue, which must include:
-A thesis statement
-Body text that defends the thesis statement on the basis of research
-A minimum of four scholarly sources
-For the Research Essay, a minimum of four images, for the Exhibition Catalogue six images, labelled in this format:
Artist’s full name/culture if artist unknown, Title/Description, Date. Location of production (if known). Medium, dimensions (if known)
-proper citation of sources, using footnotes or endnotes or in-text citations, in Chicago or MLA format. See the OCADU Library Find Style Guides page:

-a bibliography, also in Chicago or MLA format (goes at the very end)
