Introduction
There is no doubt that Hitler indeed left a legacy which shaped the course of the Modern World. After the Third Reich was reduced to a pile of ashes surrounding Hitler’s bunker in Berlin, his story is still the most powerful legacy of violence and hatred mankind has ever seen. The extremism which Adolf Hitler swept at society but in particular German people still frightens many to this day. It is almost impossible to understand how a party based on hatred and hostility towards democracy managed to gain a stranglehold on Europe. Despite Hitler’s remarkable capacity for violence and corruption, he rose through the ranks legally through the German political apparatus, becoming chancellor in 1933. This power is indeed the reason why these events took place during Hitlers time in power. This evaluation will extensively analyze the events in which Hitler took part in creating.
Moment #1
To begin with, World War 2 was about to take place when Adolf Hitler was awarded with great power on August 2, 1934. This power was the title of Fuhrer of Germany because President von Hindenburg had just died. Hitler was already Chancellor of Germany and after an agreement with staff at the presidents office, Hitler became head of state as well as head of government and was formally named the Führer of Germany. This taking place was tragic as this meant that Hitler had the power to create war at any time he pleased. As a result, Hitler decided to abuse his power and decided to do irresponsible things such as fighting with other countries. He decided to invade the nation of Poland soon after and therefore, other countries got involved and World War 2 began. This war completely changed the course of the modern world
Moment #2
Secondly, there is no doubt that the major event caused by Adolf Hitler which shaped the course of the modern world is the provocation of World War 2. World War 2 all started when Hitler decided to undertake the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. Two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning World War II. Over the next six years, this awful conflict took more lives and destroyed more land and property around the globe than any previous war which took place. Among the estimated 45-60 million people killed, there were 6 million Jews murdered in Nazi concentration camps as part of Hitlers diabolical Final Solution, now known as the Holocaust.
Moment #3
As a result of Hitler’s creation of World War 2, Europe’s hierarchy was also destroyed. The countries and nations of Britain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands all lost their empires due to the devastating result World War 2 had on most countries. The main devastating result of the war was that these countries lost their energy and wealth to maintain their power after all the fighting that took place. After the war, Europe faced the task of rebuilding many of it’s broken buildings. After all this chaos already took place, turns out, Hitler actually wanted peace with the British so he could completely demolish the Soviets. Britain kindly denied this deal because they didn’t trust in Hitler’s promise. Britain simply couldn’t bet their nation on Hitler’s word.
Moment #4
Additionally, Hitler also cost Europe their religious beliefs. It is startling, the extent to which Christian Europe has abandoned Christianity for secularism. After the war, the decline of church attendance raised to levels never seen before. It was not just Hitler who destroyed Europe’s religious aspect but in many ways it destroyed itself from the inside. Christianity in Europe was already on a decline but the contribution which Hitler had was that he was the provider of a coup de grace. After World War 2 ended, irreversible damage to Europe’s religious beliefs occurred as they believed that religion causes outrageous views and therefore cause war to take place.
Moment #5
The final and most relieving impact Adolf Hitler made on the world is his death. Hitler committed suicide by a gunshot in his bunker on the 30th of April 1945. This bunker was situated in Berlin and was used as a raid shelter during World War 2. The death of Adolf Hitler was very significant and pleased the majority of those alive at the time both positively and negatively. The majority of people in society were all relieved when Adolf Hitler died as he was responsible and caused over 80 million deaths. The world changed forever the day he died, as there was no need to worry about an evil dictator as powerful as Hitler was being alive.
